WHO: Lorna and Jan
WHAT: stuff
WHERE: the school
WHEN: the weekend
WARNINGS: Lorna and Jan

Lorna knew Jan was in her little office, just as usual, so she decided to pay a small visit. Standing in the doorway, she looked over at Jan and folded her arms. Okay, Jan needed a break, and Lorna needed to make sure she actually took one. Yeah, the world was going nutso, but there was absolutely nothing that the mistress of magnetism could do with power failures. Nope, she'd only make them a million times worse!

So, since Lorna was one of the headmistresses, she decided to work that to advantage right now. Even homo superiors needed breaks!

"Hey, Jan?" she called out, getting her attention. "You're fired."

A pause. "For three hours."

Jan was standing at her desk, looking into a microscope. She had gotten some of Kevin's DNA and was currently studying it. If she could manipulate his mutation, somehow, he might be able to life a normal life. Or it would kill him. Whichever. She turned when she heard Lorna come in and gave her a blank look.

"I'm fired?"

Jan paused.

"Only for three hours?"

She took off her coat and took off her goggles. The latex gloves came off next. If Lorna was shirking work, it meant there was probably something on her mind. Maybe the stress of the job was getting to her.

"Says you, Headmistress," Jan teased. "Now that I'm fired, whatever will I do to fill up my empty life? For three hours."

Unlike most of the other people who could fly here, Jan never thought much of it. It was okay, she supposed, but there had been so much shame associated with her mutation, she rarely ever did it for fun. "If you fire me for real, all you'll have are teenagers who can heal and will probably use this room for making out."

She grabbed her jacket-- Jan really did hate the chilly weather-- and wrapped a scarf around her neck. "Lead the way, oh fearless leader."

Ditching school was fun, Jan hadn't done that in like, ten years. She and Lorna always did manage to entertain themselves. But would the school really be okay without them? She hoped they didn't come back to chaos.

Jan was not exactly made for speed. But if this would make Lorna happy, she supposed she could play this game. The jacket would have to get left behind but luckily she always wore her uniform to work. Getting tiny and naked or busting open shirts with her wings in the cold was not fun.

"Alright, where are we racing to?" For the purpose of this race, Jan decided to stay Jan-sized as opposed to Wasp-size. Maybe the bigger wings would give her more speed. She didn't know; that was Hank's specialty. It felt odd to be her own size, plus wings, but not terrible.
